Korea, the Hermit Kingdom

Korea map

I had a vision of this coming possible conflict, So I called up a map of the area. 600 miles to Peijing, 200 miles to Vladivostok and 400 miles to Japan, all from the main missile base and atomic bomb facilities of North Korea. The North Koreans have been at war with their neighbors for a 1,000 years. This is a point of real contention, real danger to local peace. Both the Russians and Chinese will fight to control this, vital to them, area. Both are in an expansionist mood. Neither needs a crazy little pipsqueak playing with atomic weapons in the area or worse inviting the Americans to take an interest. Look at the local area from an on the ground POV.

Vladivostok is THE most important Russian Pacific base and city.  Just over a hundred miles from the border with the DPRK.

Tell the DPRK Military “Eradicate this guy or they will be eradicated.”
Lets make a Deal!  Best for everyone, except for Un.

South Korea is no military threat to anyone…pg

I’ve been studying the map and a bit of the history of the area from a strategic point of view. The always danger to North Korea is China. Beijing is only a few hundred miles away. Their common boarder is contested. The Koreans and Chinese have been at war for over a thousand years. Little Un may be shaking his fist at the evil Americans 6000 miles away but, it is his next door Chinese friends that he really fears. The Chinese have Divisions of troops parked along their border to keep the warlike northerners out of China, a threat they have faced for many generations. Nuclear tipped ballistic missiles and vast amounts of artillery along with a Militarized country are his only tools to keep his “friend” at bay. Constant shaking his fist at the Imperial Americans is his only excuse to be able to maintain this kind of powerful military Dictatorship next door to China. Every time the Chinese lean on their Korean neighbors about their excessive militarization, the Koreans jump up, shake their fists and proclaim those evil Americans are readying their invasion! BUT, the DPRK military is building launch facilities across the water from Beijing, 600 miles away, a short distance for the kind of missiles that they are testing…pg

It looks like Kim Un will be sitting down across from President Trump to discuss ending the Korean War, starting today in Singapore.
North Korea brings to the table the threat of Atomic weapons atop ballistic missiles. The Americans overwhelming military and economic power. In My opinion, the atomic topped missiles are a threat, not a reality and North Korea is a basket case with a military that is hollowed out and dying.
China, that has backed up the North for 70 years, is tired of this thing that puts their dreams of world power standing and good relations with their best customer and the world super power at risk.
Kim Un would like to game the Americans, AGAIN, to give the North great economic concessions and financial aid for giving up nothing real.
Trump will demand concessions of giving up missiles and atomics before even discussing the continuance of Kim’s rule and the reduction of economic restrictions.
We will see who blinks first! Little Kim Un is up against a master of negotiation in Trump. His best outcome will be American guarantees of his continuation and American assistance in recreation of the North’s economy. China will get rid of a real danger to them that exists a few hundred miles to the East of their Capitol and draws American attention to their front door step…pg
