Corona Virus , 2019-nCoV now named SARS-CoV-2 or Covid-19

2019-nCoV Corona Virus or now named SARS-CoV-2  Virus or Covid-19 Outbreak.

At the end of 2019, patients with unexplained pneumonia appeared in Wuhan, China. At 21:00 on January 7, 2020, a new coronavirus was detected in the laboratory, and the detection of pathogenic nucleic acids was completed at 20:00 on January 10. Subsequently, the World Health Organization officially named the new coronavirus that caused the pneumonia epidemic in Wuhan as 2019 new coronavirus (2019-nCoV) later named Covid-19 , and the pneumonia was named severe acute respiratory infection (SARI). Up to February 4, 2020, over 20000 cases have been diagnosed in China, 406 of which have died, and 154 cases have been discovered in other countries around the world. Most of the deaths were elderly patients or patients with severe underlying diseases. SARI has caused global concern and emergency.

Statistics of the 41 patients with SARI published in JAMA initially showed that 13 patients were transferred into the ICU, of which 11 (85%) had ARDS and 3 (23%) had shock. Of these, 10 (77%) required mechanical ventilation support, and 2 (15%) required ECMO support. Of the above 13 patients, 5 (38%) eventually died and 7 (38%) were transferred out of the ICU. Viral pneumonia is a dangerous condition with a poor clinical prognosis. For most viral infections, there is a lack of effective targeted antiviral drugs, and symptomatic supportive treatment is still the current main treatment.

Detailed Description: Vitamin C infusion treatment for Viral Pneumonia.

Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, has antioxidant properties. When sepsis happens, ( pay attention, this is the part that kills ) the cytokine surge caused by sepsis is activated, and neutrophils in the lungs accumulate in the lungs, destroying alveolar capillaries.

Early clinical studies have shown that vitamin C can effectively prevent this process. In addition, vitamin C can help to eliminate alveolar fluid by preventing the activation and accumulation of neutrophils, and reducing alveolar epithelial water channel damage. At the same time, vitamin C can prevent the formation of neutrophil extracellular traps, which is a biological event of vascular injury caused by neutrophil activation. Vitamins can effectively shorten the duration of the common cold. In extreme conditions (athletes, skiers, art workers, military exercises), it can effectively prevent the common cold. And whether vitamin C also has a certain protective effect on influenza patients, a few studies have shown that vitamin C deficiency is related to the increased risk and severity of influenza infections. In a controlled but non-randomized trial, 85% of the 252 students treated experienced a reduction in symptoms in the high-dose vitamin C group (1g / h or 1000mg/hour at the beginning of symptoms for 6h, followed by 3 – 1g doses/ day). Using this vitamin C protocol on 2019-nCoV patients seemed to give good results.

Among patients with sepsis and ARDS, patients in the high-dose vitamin group did not show a better prognosis and other clinical outcomes. There are still some confounding factors in the existing research, and the conclusions are different.

this is a effective prophylaxis as well as treatment and can be administered weekly!

Boost your immune system with high doses of vitamin C. Orthomolecular medicine has found that vitamin C is important in stimulating the immune system. In one study, asymptomatic adults came down with the flu. They were given 1000 mg of vitamin C on an hourly basis for six consecutive doses. They then received 1000 mg three times daily as long as they were symptomatic. Their reported flu and cold symptoms were reduced by 85% compared to a placebo.
Take 1000 mg of vitamin C every hour for six hours. Then take 1000 mg three times a day until you don’t feel your symptoms anymore.
Increase your intake of vitamin D3. Vitamin D3 is an important vitamin that stimulates the immune system. If you are not already taking vitamin D3 supplements regularly, there is a high probability that you may be deficient in vitamin D. This could be measured with 25-hydroxyvitamin D blood levels. But when a flu hits, there is no time to do this.
For adults: Take 50,000 IU of vitamin D3 on the first day you feel sick. Then take the same amount every day for the next three days. Reduce the vitamin D3 dose slowly over the next few days to 5000 IU daily.

In schoolchildren, another study showed that 1200 IU of vitamin D3 reduced the incidence of influenza by 67% compared to a control group that did not take any vitamin D3 supplement

Add Zinc;  When you mention zinc, many people will think about its ability to fight colds and there is good reason for this. Taking zinc supplements over a period of several months can actually reduce your chances of developing illnesses like the cold or flu.

There is also evidence that if you start supplementing (up to 50mg a day) after becoming sick that zinc can help speed up your recovery.

Research published in 2013 by Indian researchers revealed that if you start taking zinc supplements within the first 24 hours of the onset of your cold, symptoms disappeared significantly faster.

Try coconut oil. Coconut oil has medium chain fatty acids that have antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal and antiparasitic effects without having side effects. The main ingredient in coconut oil is lauric acid, a medium chain saturated fatty acid. It inserts itself into the viral outer membrane and causes a rupture and death of the influenza virus without harming the human host of the virus.
Take one to two tablespoons of coconut oil three times per day. Mix it in warm orange juice or take it with a meal. Usually within one to two days, the virus will be eliminated. Symptoms often disappear within one day, when normally it would have taken five to seven days to recover from a flu
Use the old-fashioned method of steaming. In this method, all you need is water and your chosen essential oils or mixture of oils. You’ll boil water to create steam, which you’ll breathe through your nose.
Dry air causes drying of the mucus membranes and increases the chances of infections.

Pour water (distilled is best, but tap water is fine) until the bottom of the pot has about two inches of water.

  • Heat the water to boiling, turn off the heat and add eight to ten drops of essential oils. Stir.
  • You can either leave the pot on the stove or take it off. Just be careful, whichever you decide.
  • Cover your head with a towel and breathe in the steam through your nose. You can also breathe through your mouth, especially if you have a sore throat or a throat infection.
  • Do this as long as the steam is rising. Repeat if desired by reheating the water. The same solution can be used over and over until all the water is gone.
  • Monitor for signs of dehydration. Call your physician for advice even if you are just seeing the signs of mild dehydration, especially in babies. These can progress to more serious dehydration pretty quickly. Some symptoms of mild dehydration include:
    • Dry, sticky mouth. In a baby, look for dry lips or crustiness around the lips/eyes. Also look for “lip-smacking” behavior.
    • More sleepiness, fussiness or tiredness than usual.
    • Thirst: This is hard to tell in a small infant, but the “lip smacking” behavior or pursing her lips as if she is feeding may be a clue.
    • Decreased urine output: Check an infant’s diapers. They should need to be changed at least every three hours. If the diaper is dry after 3 hours, this may indicate some dehydration. Keep pushing fluids and check after another hour. If the diaper is still dry, call your physician.
    • Check the color of urine. The darker the urine, the more dehydrated the baby or child may be.
    • Constipation: Check for bowel movements as well, especially when you’re checking the diaper for urine.
    • Few or no tears when crying
    • Dry skin: Gently pinch the back of the baby’s hand, just pinching the loose skin. Well-hydrated babies have skin that bounces right back.
    • Dizziness or lightheadedness

Drink plenty of water. Fever can lead to dehydration and you want to make sure you avoid this. It will only make you feel worse. Kids (and you) might enjoy frozen popsicles as well, but you do want to avoid too much sugar. Try making popsicles from herbal teas such as chamomile or elderberry. Frozen Italian ices or frozen yogurt or sherbet may be good choices as well. But don’t forget plain water!

Acid touchy stomach is greatly helped by taking 250+ mg of magnesium, kills most of the acid and makes your stomach a lot less touchy.
Mixed up some ORS last night and that really turned things around, I actually wanted to drink some.

    1 Liter bottle,
    1/2 cup tang powder
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 tsp table salt
1/2 tsp morton’s light salt (high in potassium)
    Mix well and chill,

Oral Rehydration Solution strives for an isotonically balances mixture that absorbs really efficiently (almost as efficient as an IV) The mix above is just a tad too strong for my taste but is easy to remember, so I take a couple swallows then chase with clear water. With the orange flavor of the tang, gives you Vit C and what tastes like fresh squeezed orange juice

The World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Tuesday that it hopes to have a vaccine for the novel  corona virus, now named  SARS-CoV-2, within 18 months, but until then, countries will have to make do with what they already have.

“The development of vaccines and therapeutics is one important part of the research agenda. But it’s not only one part. They will take time to develop — but in the meantime, we are not defenseless,” WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said during a Tuesday press conference. “The first vaccine could be ready in 18 months, so we have to do everything today using the available weapons to fight this virus,”

He labeled the disease a global threat, despite most of it being relegated to mainland China.

“With 99 percent of cases in China, this remains very much an emergency for that country, but one that holds a very grave threat for the rest of the world,” Tedros explained.

He also said the virus has been named Covid-19 but claimed there are still many unknown factors that are preventing scientists from reaching a breakthrough.

“It’s hard to believe that just two months ago, this virus – which has come to captivate the attention of media, financial markets and political leaders – was completely unknown to us,” Tedros said. “To defeat this outbreak, we need answers to all those questions and more.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institute of Health (NIH), said early testing of the vaccine will likely begin in April.

The death toll from the virus topped 1,000 on Monday, according to the WHO. There are at least 40,235 confirmed cases of the virus in mainland China. There are also 393 cases in 24 other countries outside of China, including 13 in the U.S.

The epidemic has killed more people than the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak in China in 2003, when  774 people died and 8,000 were infected

Symptoms of the virus include fever, cough and shortness of breath. There aren’t many preemptive steps that can be taken to avoid infection, other than practicing basic sanitary measures on a regular basis.

When news of the virus first broke, the CDC suggested people wash their hands regularly and avoid contact with other sick people, who are recovering from an illness. It also warned against touching your eyes and face and recommended keeping objects and surfaces in your home or workspace clean and disinfected.

From my various readings, in my opinion, this is an escaped bio-engineered virus from the P-4 research lab in Wuhan, China,  probably escaped about mid October 2019. This virus shows genetic indications that it had to be engineered and not wild. The researchers “borrowed” Corona virus samples from American and Canadian labs (  the point of origin for the WuHuFlu is Harvard University ! Australian reporter reports a thing that American reporters refuse to publish.  )  and added other “features” in an attempt to create an effective inoculation to prevent SARS. The base virus, added features and the “tools” used,  all leave markers in the virus genetic structure that can be determined. The official story of a wild contamination in a Wild Meat market is the result of an infected “super shedder ” that worked in the market and infected many others. The Chinese customs for celebration during their New Year was a great accelerator for cross contamination. This virus has a long incubation time of 2-4 weeks before sickness becomes apparent, 10-14 days of sickness, followed by 2 weeks of recovery or rapid decline and death from pneumonia and organ failure.  People are infectious to others for nearly all of this time and the rate of infections is as bad as with measles.  For most people this infection is fairly minor thing, but can be deadly to those that have other problems. Due to genetics Chinese men are most at risk as well as are those with lung problems, smokers or those compromised immune systems…pg

I added this post so I would have a place to put information on this Covid-19 as I accumulate it.

  2. Simon Derricutt February 12, 2020 at 3:09 am

pg – maybe worth adding a link to Chiefio at since there’s a load of information there that could be useful to someone wanting the history.

Useful to have the personal protection points here, though, for a somewhat faster reference.

Though the genetics of this virus could be produced by engineering, it could be a result of trying to get a vaccine against SARS coupled with an escape into the local bats (and pangolins) given the bushmeat preferences in China. It seems unlikely that it was intentional, though, given the preferential infections of people of Chinese extraction due to genetic variations in the ACE2 receptor.

@ Simon; your points are well taken. The guys at EMs blog have given us a deluge of information on this ongoing epidemic. Specially Larry! I would guess we that follow there are a week or more in front of the news cycle. I am just trying to stash the most important facts here, specially the things friends and family might do to protect themselves from the risks from any influenza virus. Anything you might do to tip the balance in your health that might prevent a bad outcome from an exposure, because you will have an exposure in spite of any precaution you might take.

Even minor things such as tipping the micro nutrient balance, such as, I sometimes take L-Lysine to stop Shingles out breaks. Just 1 – 1000mg in a week keeps it at bay.

It appears to me that if you can slow a virus replication enough your body will over whelm it. You might feel a bit off for a few days, then you aquire immunity to it. It appears to me that the real killer about this virus is your body’s reaction to the runaway infection. A heavy initial dose and no immunity results in a serious infection and a bad outcome.

Reading the papers we have been linked to gave me a better understanding of the how and why of this things creation, while they were on the road to the creation of a vaccination for all Corona virus. Unfortunately the partially done experiment escaped. The Chinese seem to always cut corners. Get it done now and damn the risks! Cheap and quick, just seems to be the way they do things. They “borrowed” the samples from American and Canadian research labs. They “Borrowed” the technology and Genetic tools from the west. Quick created a couple of P4 labs in the middle of their most heavily industrialized and populated area. and set out to become the world leader in this field with barely trained people. Everything about this is a worst case scenario, small wonder we are seeing a bad outcome.

Western Labs are telling us they need 3 months to develop a vaccine against this virus and 18 months to get it out to the public. That is a long time considering this things spreading speed. So it looks like survival is the only option for most people.

  4. Simon Derricutt February 15, 2020 at 6:00 am

pg – yep, strengthening our body’s defences is a good strategy, given that this virus is bound to spread and that quarantine wasn’t applied early enough.

Cutting corners is a standard Chinese method, since it produces things more cheaply and in less time. Maybe also the assumption that less-skilled workers can get the same results as more-skilled ones, which is often true unless you come up against a problem or something where a well-trained worker wouldn’t make a certain mistake (having been trained to avoid it). Possibly an escape from the Wuhan lab would be more likely because of that assumption (put the staff in there and they’ll learn on the job). I can’t blame them for stealing technology, since everyone else does that where they can. Over time, though, that will change as their customs of deference to the leader gets changed by the young with different attitudes and knowledge of their own competence. Only a few years ago there was the first-ever strike over wages/conditions in China, so things are gradually changing.

Since it looks like the dangerous part of the disease is the lung-damage from the cytokine storm, and there seems to be a possibility that Cannabis oil can reduce that cytokine storm, it’s maybe something to add to the medical stores. Could be a life-saver if the preventative measures fail.

  5. p.g.sharrow February 15, 2020 at 8:04 am

The rate of contagion of this influenza seems so great that I think world wide infection is a sure thing before any real prevention will be effective, so survival seems to be the only option available. That means keep yourself in the best health possible so your body’s defenses have the best chance at success. Reducing your exposure is a good policy but preventing it will be impossible. There seems to be a difference in the amount viral challenge and the bodies reaction to it so that a slight exposure will result in immunity and little sickness, where as a heavy exposure with no immunity results in sever sickness and organ failure, even death.

It appears to me that the Chinese government reaction to this epidemic will cause damage to the country far worse then any outcome to the disease. A loss of 2% of the population to this virus would be a sad thing but stopping the economy for a month or two will be a disaster for any Chinese dream of becoming a world power. The population loss would be primarily among the nonproductive segment of the population, but the loss in productivity will be the straw that broke this camels back. The Nations financial house of cards will collapse into economic ruin for a generation. You can count on the Bureaucracy to make a bad situation worse…pg

  8. Simon Derricutt March 10, 2020 at 5:05 am

pg – I don’t recall the flesh-eating fungus in 2010, and in any case this could be destroyed using Sodium Hypochlorite, Ozone, or UVC since those will destroy all bugs that we know of. Difficulty is finding something that kills the bug but not the human it’s infecting.

For predictions, the hits are lauded and the misses forgotten, which is something that has been exploited by prophets throughout history. Also noted here is that Covid-19 doesn’t resist all known treatments – Remdesivir seems to work OK so far and there are others being found. If you look at the recent history, though, there’s some big disease around every few years, so predicting one arriving in “around” some date (with a couple of years leeway) is pretty-well bound to occur.

As in Asimov’s “Foundation” series, it’s reasonable to think that the broad sweep of history can reasonably be predicted, though predicting the future of one person will not be possible (too much chaos for one person, but when you’re talking about billions the chaos averages quite a lot). It’s hard to predict the date of a scientific breakthrough, or what thing that was considered impossible will become both possible and routine, but we can predict that such breakthroughs will happen at an increasing rate. My own predictions are that we’ll soon have a way of recycling heat into electricity, based on quantum physics, and that also we’ll soon have a way of propelling spacecraft with a non-reactive drive – those are based on what I know is being researched and the logic behind them (as well as experimental results). It also looks like LENR is getting closer to being tamed. Thus we’ll soon have much cheaper energy. Who exactly produces those is not predictable, but it seems fairly certain someone will, and then once it’s seen to be possible it will rapidly be improved upon.

Predictions are at heart based on seeing the patterns and extrapolating them. Extrapolations cannot be exact, since your input data is limited by the time-span as well as being incomplete. We can’t rule out some cross-linkages across time, though, even though that seems impossible in a chaotic world with self-determination. It’s just that there isn’t any reasonable evidence that that has happened before, so until that evidence turns up it’s not a reasonable thing to consider as possible.

With so many people making predictions, there’s a pretty good chance that some will turn out to have been either right or near-enough. The problem is in deciding which ones will be correct in the future, before the evidence is in. For that, look at the patterns, and what is most likely possible as well as what we know to be possible, and go from there.

IBUPROPHEN may Harm Coronavirus Victims From:

French authorities warned that widely used over-the-counter anti-inflammatory drugs may worsen the coronavirus. Popular over the counter anti-inflammatory painkillers such as ibuprofen could worsen the effects of the coronavirus.

The country’s health minister, Olivier Véran, who is a qualified doctor and neurologist, tweeted on Saturday: “The taking of anti-inflammatories [ibuprofen, cortisone … ] could be a factor in aggravating the infection. In case of fever, take paracetamol. If you are already taking anti-inflammatory drugs, ask your doctor’s advice.”

Paracetamol is known in the US by the generic name acetaminophen and commonly by the brand name Tylenol, and “will reduce the fever without counterattacking the inflammation”.

Prof. Ian Jones, a virologist at the UK University of Reading advised: “There’s good scientific evidence for ibuprofen aggravating the condition or prolonging it.”

A recent scientific trial found patients with respiratory infections such as coughs, colds and sore throats who were prescribed ibuprofen rather than paracetamol by their GP were more likely to subsequently suffer severe illness or complications. Several other studies have linked anti-inflammatory drugs to worsened pneumonia.

Health officials point out that anti-inflammatory drugs are known to be a risk for those with infectious illnesses because they tend to diminish the response of the body’s immune system.

Chinese Doctors have said much the same thing, NSAIDS that reduce fever seem to aggravate the patients symptoms and be counter productive. Massive doses of Vitamin C seem to give much better results. Fever is the body’s defense against virus infection. So some level of fever is a good thing…pg

@Simon, the best guess I could come up with for a very infectious fungus like bacteria of 2010 is HA-MERSA that is very resistant to nearly all known treatments. While MERSA has been known since 1956 the HA ( hospital acquired) variant was first described in 2010.

Nostradamus was a well known physician of his age and dealt in plagues of that time and understood the concept of disease caused by micro organisms. We shall see if this “Flu” is vanquished as quickly as the prediction indicates.

I really liked the “Foundation” trilogy and the concept of the tapestry of history. I use it often to describe the flow of history. Nostradamus used something similar including the fact that, even if you knew what was to come you were not meant to change things, just accept them. Even the Foundation had to deal with the “Mule” that didn’t fit in with their calculations and maneuvers to manage history. Hummm, kind of like Trump that has bedeviled the GEBs and their one world dream.

I’m taking my vitamin C&D and planning on surviving this Wuhan Virus to see it’s return! I think everyone will get it and become immune to it to some degree in a very short time. It will increase the death rate among the very old and infirmed, moving the needle of population age a bit toward the young rather then the old which at present is the case. Everyone dies of something. In spite of my 74 years, I am healthy, never smoked or use drugs and have kept fit with a life of hard farm labor.

Besides, We have the secrets of physics to discover! GOD has promised 2 great discoveries for this era.

  11. Simon Derricutt March 17, 2020 at 2:17 am

pg – the problem with the somewhat-oracular predictions is that people try hard to shoe-horn what actually happened into what was predicted. Thus your best-guess of HA-MERSA above, that AFAIK never got into the news, or at least not into the news I get. A while back I looked into the details of astrology, and found that every alignment of planets had two opposite “predictions” associated, and the astrologer had to choose which one would be put into the report. Much the same with the I-ching, where there’s a set of readings that are self-contradicting, and the “reading” involves choice of which ones are relevant. Thus using any method of divination of the future in the end depends on which of the available descriptions of the future “feel right” to the enquirer. Since we seem to have an unconscious knowledge of what will likely happen (somewhat like Hari Seldon but not expressed mathematically) then when you’re given a restricted choice you’ll choose the bits of text that seem closest to what you think will happen, and so the predictions are probably better than chance would dictate. Of course, some people will be better at this than others.

Not a lot of point in foretelling the future if you don’t intend to try to change the foreseen bad outcomes, though. It’s pretty easy to foresee that the Green New Deal has a terrible outcome, and that we should work on the physics in order to avoid people heading that way. It’s also pretty easy to foresee that we’ll be able to recycle heat energy since I’ve worked out what the error is that causes us to think it’s impossible, and even if I don’t manage to make something that does that there are other bits of research happening that are likely to accidentally discover it. If you look at new discoveries that changed the paradigm over history, there were mostly quite a few other people working on the same thing at the same time, and it was just luck (or better planning) that led to the people who became famous for that discovery being the first. It’s thus the right time at the moment for energy recycling to happen, and also there are now a number of people such as Mike McCulloch working on why momentum is conserved and thus how to make something that doesn’t conserve momentum. That gives you your two big advances in physics…. It’s just the time for those to emerge, since there are experimental verifications already at a low level that are ignored by the mainstream because they are “against theory”. There’s also of course LENR, which is a third thing where the time has arrived for some big results. So maybe we’ll get more than was promised. Cheap energy and cheap spaceflight. Pretty amazing.

For the Wuhan virus, it seems that the people dying from it would probably have died (or had a fair chance of dying) from the standard ‘flu. Most old people tend to die in Winter, and you may well have hit the nail on the head with the observations about NSAIDs being a problem and causing worse outcomes. Fever is the body’s method of killing viruses, and if you reduce the fever by using them (to be more comfortable) then your body won’t kill the viruses so quickly. There’s some evidence that a high fever can clear a body of cancer cells, too. Some “miracle cures” happened when someone got a bad ‘flu and fever, and cured the cancer. Maybe best to let the body get really hot, but cool the brain since that also can be damaged by a too-high temperature (limit the brain to less than, say, 103°F) and let the fever work.

Meantime, nice to know you’re getting vitamin levels high. In any case, you’re pretty isolated there, so you’ll probably avoid catching this one.

As of midday here, we’ll need a bit of paper when we go out saying why we’re outside the home. Visits to buy food, medicine are OK, as are visits to doctor and to work if we can’t work at home, but no visits to restaurants or group activities. Fines if we don’t have the bit of paper….

Yes government people attempting to make things as bad as possible on the people to make their own lives easier. Our representatives in Congress just passed a bill to bankrupt all small businesses by shutting them down but requiring them to maintain paying their employees. Big business of over 500 employees are exempt.
What really is needed is that government employees/politicians should have their pay stopped for the duration of their declared emergency. Share the misery! it is only fair. Most of these people that want this shut down have fat paychecks and retirement savings. They can afford this better then the rest of us that have to do real work to live.

Something has been bugging me for the last week about this Covid-19 Pandemic.
In the first messages WE got was a paper by a Chinese Doctor researcher that worked on this “unknown” infection in November-December. He remarked on young Chinese Solders that had been vaccinated against SARS-Corona virus having very bad outcomes from this “unknown” virus. The Wuhan facility was being used to research creating a SARS-Corona inoculation. He and his assistants were arrested shortly after that and were disappeared.
Is it possible that this was a vaccination program with a weakened live vaccine that went bad? And that is the reason for this massive coverup by China and the WHO as they were involved in the creation and execution of this program? …
In late December China ordered their overseas companies to buy up all the PPE equipment in the World and ship it to China, All the PPE being shipped from Chinese companies was diverted and shipped back to China. Governments from around the world were encouraged by WHO to deplete their emergency supplies and ship them to China to “Help” them with their epidemic.
China closed down people’s movement in the Wuhan area but allowed flights to all the rest of the World 100s of thousands of people from the area fanned out from the area to the rest of the world but not into China ???
